FAQs and Expectations
- Q: Will there be extra credit questions on all the quizzes and tests?
A: There is no set amount of extra credit points on tests.
There are also many other opportunities to earn extra credits aside from quizzes and tests; see syllabus for details.
- Q: Are tests cumulative?
A: No. The last test will cover chapters not tested previously.
However, you are expected to retain major concepts from previous tests.
- Q: Will test scores be curved?
A: No. On some tests, I may give a make-up quiz after the test,
with questions taken from the test and points added to the test.
So review your test as soon as it is graded and posted to see where you made mistakes.
- Q: Will grades be rounded up?
A: No, graded are calculated automatically based on how many points you have earned throughout the semester.
- Q: Can I expect to improve my grade if I do well on papers and projects?
A: While individuals may vary, an average effort on these USUALLY earns a higher score than an average effort on tests.
Thus it MAY be possible to pull a high F to a low D, or a high D to a low C, etc.
- Q: Do you have some examples of research papers, well done or otherwise?
A: Some examples of what to do and what not to do are here.
